Spring is in the air now the daffodils have begun to show colour, & dotted round the garden the wonderful colour of early Azaleas & Rhododendrons, some of which fill the air with their heavenly scent.
The recent rain has allowed the buds of the plants to swell, so as it warms up I expect a grand show to bring cheer to us after this long winter, which has not completely released its hold.
Work is in progress in places round the garden before grass cutting season, clearing the old dead wood, & as spaces are created new plants will be placed to rejuvenate the garden & prolong the flowering season to add interest in late summer, but patience is required when gardening to allow plants to grow.
The Magnolias are just about to come out from their furry casings to reveal their petals, hopefully untainted by frosts and heavy rain. It's an exciting time of the year, as so many plants are beginning to show, as are the Ransoms giving the garden a pungent scent as one walks around.
As the new Head Gardener, I value your support as it means we can continue planting new areas that need rejuventating, as this will create an even more wonderful garden for generations to come. Thank you. Even though I have been here such a short time thus far, I do feel that the garden is worthy of greater recognition & a must-see garden for those passionate about plants.
